Cut Styles Explained
Two Bars. One Standard.
Every bar we make starts from the same small batch recipe — certified grass-fed tallow, organic oils, therapeutic grade essential oils, and natural colorants. Then we wait. Every bar cures for a minimum of eight weeks before it leaves our hands — because that's what it takes to develop a lather that feels like silk and a bar that holds its shape for months. No shortcuts in either direction. What differs is the form.
Captain's Bar — 5 to 6 oz / 142 to 170g
The full Blind Pirate experience. A larger, hand-shaved square bar — generous enough for a man's hand, equally at home on the bath tub ledge. Finished with a Braille label applied by hand, every single one, because if you can't read it independently, it isn't finished. Counter-ready, gift-ready, and built to last. Used daily, a single bar carries you two to three months or beyond. $12
Ballast Bar — 4.7 to 5 oz / 133 to 142g
Hand-cut and unlabeled. No wrapper, no extras — just the soap. The Ballast Bar is built for provisioners, minimalists, and anyone who wants to stock up without the ceremony. Rectangular, ergonomic, and honest about what it is. Used daily, expect two to three months of use from a single bar. $10
Both bars. Same soap. Different form. Choose the one that fits how you sail.
