Why tallow

Certified grass-fed tallow brings the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K to every wash — not as additives, but as the ingredient itself. It makes for a rich, conditioning wash that leaves hair full and soft rather than squeaky or coated. A solid shampoo with no synthetic fillers and no chemical stabilizers.

Beach Rain is a slightly harder, more robust clean than our other shampoo bars — it clarifies, then it conditions everything it just cleared. A note on switching to a solid bar: if you've spent years on conventional shampoo, give it a few weeks to adjust. It's worth the patience.

The details that matter

Bentonite clay gives Beach Rain its structure. Sandalwood powder anchors the whole scent in warmth and adds a barely-there silkiness to the lather you'll notice without being able to name.

Fir follows, wild and resinous, the deep forest note that tells you something ancient is nearby. Cedarwood atlas settles in beneath both of them — warm, dark, the heartwood holding everything together.

Beach Rain — Care & Use Guide
Using Your Bar
Wet your hair thoroughly. Rub the bar directly between your palms to build a lather, or work it gently across the scalp and through the hair. Massage in with fingertips — not nails. Rinse well with the coolest water you can manage. Cool water closes the cuticle and seals in what the bar just delivered.
Beach Rain is a more robust clean than our other shampoo bars. You will feel the difference. That is the castor oil and the clay doing exactly what they are supposed to do.
A little goes further than you expect.
Salt Water Use
Beach Rain lathers in salt water. Wash as normal. Follow with a fresh water rinse.
The Transition Period
If you are coming from conventional shampoo or conditioner, your hair and scalp will need time to recalibrate. Several weeks to several months depending on history. You may notice increased oiliness or texture changes early on. Stay the course. Your scalp is remembering how to do its job without chemical assistance.
Conditioner

Caring For Your Bar
Keep it dry between uses. A well-drained soap dish extends the life of every bar significantly. Do not leave it sitting in water. The coffee grounds give this bar texture and beauty — a dry bar between washes keeps them exactly where they belong.
