Ocean | Grass-Fed Tallow Soap Bar

This isn't ocean-inspired. This is the ocean — Bahamian coral reef blues swirled into spirulina and ancient Cambrian clay, sitting on a grass-fed tallow base that nourishes as deep as the color runs. Handcrafted by a family that has actually been there.

Product Benefits

Ocean Tallow Soap

Some bars carry the coast on the breeze. This one pulls you beneath the surface.

Blue spirulina, Serbian blue clay, and Cambrian blue clay are poured in slow, deliberate layers — each one a different depth of blue, each color earned by an ingredient doing real work on your skin. Blue spirulina is one of the ocean's most nutrient-dense organisms, delivering antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids that support cellular repair. Serbian blue clay draws impurities from deep within pores while its minerals replenish what they remove. Cambrian blue clay is ancient — purifying and restoring with the quiet authority of something formed over millions of years. Indigo deepens the whole composition from the foundation up. No synthetic dyes. Every shade earned.

Geranium, ylang ylang, and patchouli create a scent that is simultaneously of the ocean and beyond it — clean, grounding, and transportive in a way that opens slowly and stays long after the lather rinses away.

The base is certified grass-fed tallow — pure and unadorned — delivering vitamins A, D, E, and K in a form your skin actually absorbs. Restoration, not just cleansing.

Every bar cures a minimum of eight weeks before it leaves our hands. That's what produces a lather that feels like silk and a bar that holds its shape for months. Used daily, a single bar lasts two to three months — longer with the Captain's Bar.

Available as a Ballast Bar — 4.7 to 5 oz, hand-cut and unlabeled — or as a Captain's Bar — 5 to 6 oz, hand-shaved and Braille-labeled by Dolton's hands. Every single one. Because if you can't read it independently, it isn't finished.

Small batch. Plastic-free. Every bar unique.

The out islands are still out there. The reef is still that color. This bar is the closest thing to being there without casting off the lines.

INGREDIENTS: Grass-fed rendered beef tallow, organic coconut oil, organic castor oil, blue spirulina, Serbian blue clay, Cambrian blue clay, indigo powder, therapeutic grade essential oils of geranium, ylang ylang, and patchouli.

Description

Before there was a soap company, there was Komla.

A North Sea trawler, 3,000 pounds of cargo capacity, running legal freight to the out islands of the Bahamas during an era when those waters were busy with far more than fishing boats. Five years of early mornings, open crossings, and the particular blue of the Bahamian sea at first light — a color that doesn't exist anywhere else on earth. Not quite turquoise. Not quite indigo. Something alive and shifting that sits between the two and refuses to be named.

That blue is what this bar is made from.

Ocean lives at the heart of our coastal collection alongside Spearmint Reef and Dune Grass — but where those bars carry the coast on the breeze, this one pulls you beneath the surface.

What's in it — and what it actually does

Organic blue spirulina is where this bar earns its color and then some. One of the ocean's most nutrient-dense organisms — packed with antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids that support cellular repair and collagen production. It isn't dye. It's an ingredient pulling double duty, delivering genuine skin benefits while creating those unmistakable deep ocean swirls that make every bar a one-of-a-kind piece.

Serbian blue clay is rare, mineral-rich, and deeply detoxifying — drawing impurities from deep within pores while its exceptional mineral content replenishes what it removes. This is clay doing what clay does best, without the harshness of cheaper alternatives.

Cambrian blue clay is ancient — formed over millions of years in the sediment of primordial seas. It carries a mineral profile that modern skincare laboratories spend fortunes trying to replicate synthetically. Here it is in its original form, doing what it has always done: purifying, nourishing, and restoring skin balance with the quiet authority of something that has existed longer than human civilization.

Indigo powder deepens the color naturally — because every shade in this bar was earned by an ingredient, not applied by a chemist.

The essential oil blend is where this bar surprises people. Geranium balances and brightens. Ylang ylang — rich, floral, and deeply calming — brings a tropical warmth that opens slowly and stays. Patchouli grounds the whole composition into something earthy and lasting, the note that makes you lean toward the bar and breathe deeper. Together they create a scent that is simultaneously of the ocean and beyond it — the smell of somewhere worth sailing to.

The base, as always, is certified grass-fed tallow. Bioavailable. Skin-compatible. Restorative in a way that synthetic bases have spent decades failing to match.

Built by people who know these waters

This bar wasn't named Ocean because it seemed like a good idea. It was named Ocean because the founder of this company spent years crossing the waters it depicts — running cargo on a North Sea trawler to the Bahamian out islands, reading those reefs by sight and feel and forty years of accumulated instinct.

Blind Pirate Soap Co. was built by a 100-tonne Ocean Master captain and her son Dolton — who has been completely blind since the NICU, who Braille's every label by hand, and whose first nine years of life were spent on a sailboat moored in Charleston Harbor listening to the tide come and go. The website is screen-reader accessible. Every product is designed to be identified by touch. We built this company from the inside of real need and real experience.

When we put the Bahamas in a bar, we meant it.
