Silk & Salt blooms in both our Floral and Forest collections — a bar rare enough to belong to two worlds at once. In our Floral collection it stands alongside Coconut Rose — our Egyptian geranium bar from the rose fields of the Nile Delta — and French Lavender — our Provençal field bar built for calm and clarity. In our Forest collection it finds its grounded side alongside Velvet Rose — our deep, smoldering rose and patchouli bar — and Petals & Loam — where forest floor meets bloom. Where those bars lean into earth or into light, Silk & Salt walks the line between them — Eastern perfumery in its full complexity, neither purely floral nor purely grounded, but unmistakably both.

Rose essential oil is the heart of Eastern perfumery and the heart of this bar — deeply floral, anti-inflammatory, and genuinely mood-elevating in a way that synthetic rose has spent a century failing to replicate. Jasmine opens slowly and stays long after the lather rinses away. Together they form a floral core that is complex, warm, and unmistakably alive.

Sandalwood essential oil and sandalwood powder work in both directions — the oil contributing warm, woody, meditative depth to the scent while the powder adds a silky, skin-softening texture to the lather you will feel immediately. Ylang ylang ties it all together — exotic, rich, and the note that stops people in rooms and makes them turn around.

The vanilla is ours. Organic Madagascar vanilla beans distilled in organic Ocean vodka — home crafted, never synthetic, warm and skin-close in the way that only real vanilla can be. It is the note that makes this fragrance feel like it belongs to you rather than sitting on top of you.

Brazilian purple clay — among the rarest clays in natural skincare, found only in the Amazon basin — draws impurities while its exceptional mineral content replenishes simultaneously. Pink Himalayan salt carries 84 trace minerals from ancient sea beds laid down before human civilization — supporting cellular hydration, gentle exfoliation, and skin barrier function. Organic coconut milk transforms the lather into something silky and rich.

The base is certified grass-fed tallow — low-heat rendered, never bleached, never compromised — delivering vitamins A, D, E, and K in a form your skin actually absorbs. It costs twice what standard tallow costs. We have never considered using anything else.

Every bar cures a minimum of eight weeks before it leaves our hands. That's what produces a lather that feels like silk and a bar that holds its shape for months. Used daily, a single bar lasts two to three months — longer with the Captain's Bar.
