What's in it

Indigo powder and Serbian blue clay give this bar its ocean colors — deep blues swirled together the way current moves beneath a breaking wave. Not dye. Not artifice. Every bar comes out slightly different, because real ingredients in real hands never produce exactly the same result twice. That's not inconsistency. That's handmade.

Peppermint essential oil hits first — sharp, cold, and instantly clarifying. This is the note that makes Surfer Suds a morning bar. There's no easing into it. It wakes you up the way cold salt water wakes you up — completely and without apology.

Lavender essential oil is the steadying hand. It keeps this bar from being aggressive, pulling the energy back just enough to make it something you want on your skin rather than something you endure.

Geranium essential oil is the balance point — floral enough to add warmth and depth, the note that makes people lean toward the bar the second time and try to identify what they're smelling.

Lime, cedarwood, and rosemary round the blend out — bright citrus lift, warm woody grounding, and a sharp herbal edge that keeps the whole thing moving. Together they smell like the coast at full volume.

The base is certified grass-fed tallow — a rich, skin-compatible fat carrying the vitamins A, D, E, and K, in a form your skin recognizes rather than sits on top of. It costs twice what standard tallow costs. We've never considered using anything else. The wave brings the energy. The tallow does the restoring.

The family behind the foam

This company was built by a ship's captain — a woman whose father handed her the wheel and she never gave it back — who spent years reading waves: on Komla running cargo through the Bahamian out islands, on Syrena moored in Charleston Harbor, on deep-water deliveries that taught her everything about what the ocean gives and what it asks in return. Five generations of this family have stood at the water's edge and chosen to go further.

Her son Dolton — completely blind since the NICU, raised for nine years on Syrena with dolphins sleeping in the boat's shade and seagulls marking every morning — Brailles every label this company produces by hand.
