Description
There are ingredients in this bar you could eat.
Organic cinnamon powder — food grade, warm, and antimicrobial. Raw organic Manuka honey — the most bioactive honey on earth, straight from New Zealand bees that have never known anything but the Manuka bush. Organic colloidal oats — so pure and so gentle the FDA recognizes them as a skin protectant. Organic coconut milk — rich in vitamins and fatty acids your skin absorbs like water into dry earth. Organic coconut oil. Organic castor oil.
If you were adrift at sea with nothing but The Stable, you could eat it and survive. We don't recommend it. But you could. That's how clean this bar is.
The Stable belongs to our forest collection alongside Silk & Salt — our deep mineral luxury bar — and Stone Ground — our coffee and tallow exfoliating bar. Where those bars refine and polish, The Stable wraps your skin in something warm, nourishing, and completely without compromise.
What's in it — and what it actually does
Organic colloidal oatmeal is where this bar earns its reputation as the finest face bar in our collection. The FDA doesn't recognize many natural ingredients as skin protectants — colloidal oatmeal is one of the rare exceptions, clinically proven to reduce inflammation, relieve itch, and restore skin barrier function. For eczema-prone, sensitive, or dry skin this isn't a nice addition. It's a therapeutic one. Finely milled, completely organic, and present in every wash.
Raw organic Manuka honey is not regular honey. Not even close. Sourced from New Zealand bees that pollinate the native Manuka bush, it carries methylglyoxal — a bioactive compound that gives it antimicrobial and wound-healing properties that no other honey on earth replicates. It is, frankly, expensive. Significantly more expensive than every other honey on the market. We use it anyway because the difference it makes to your skin is not subtle and we didn't build this company to use the second best option because it costs less.
Organic cinnamon powder — food grade, the kind you'd use in your kitchen — brings natural antimicrobial properties, gentle warming circulation to the skin's surface, and a scent so warm and genuine it smells nothing like fragrance and everything like something real. Because it is.
Therapeutic grade clove essential oil is nature's most potent natural antimicrobial — rich in eugenol, which has been studied extensively for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties on skin. It's the note that makes The Stable smell like a warm kitchen on a cold morning and the ingredient that makes it perform like something far more expensive than it is.
Organic coconut milk transforms the lather — silky, rich, and noticeably different from the moment it hits water. Vitamins C, E, and B complex alongside essential fatty acids that deeply hydrate and support skin elasticity. Your skin drinks it in.
Why our tallow is different — and why it matters
Not all tallow is equal. Certified grass-fed means that animal spent a minimum of 95% of its life on open pasture — sun, grass, and open land the way nature intended. Only 5% grain. Ever. That standard produces tallow with a nutrient profile that grain-fed, shed-raised, bleached commercial tallow simply cannot match — rich in conjugated linoleic acid, vitamins A, D, E, and K, and the kind of bioavailable fats your skin recognizes as its own.
We then low-heat render it — preserving every one of those nutrients before cold processing it into our bars. Never heated to destruction. Never bleached. Never compromised.
It costs us twice what standard tallow costs. Even certified organic tallow can come from grain-fed, shed-raised animals — the organic label covers what they're fed, not how they lived. Certified grass-fed covers how they lived.
We'll take our chances with the sun and grass.
The hands behind every bar
Blind Pirate Soap Co. was founded by a 100-tonne Ocean Master captain and her son Dolton — completely blind since the NICU, raised for nine years aboard a sailboat named Syrena in Charleston Harbor, and the reason every label this company produces carries Braille. Dolton Brailles every label by hand. Not as a feature. As a standard. If you can't read it independently, it isn't finished.
The website is screen-reader accessible. Every product is designed to be identified by touch. We built this company from the inside of real need — a blind young man who aged out of school at 21, found the services weren't there, and sat down with his mother to build something better instead.
The wind is out there. Point yourself into it.
That's not just a tagline. That's five generations of proof.
Small batch. Certified organic. Plastic-free. Every label Braille labeled by Dolton's hands.
Warm enough to wear. Clean enough to eat. Built to the standard your skin deserves.
